Working with Dan has been so beneficial. After struggling with osteoarthritis knee pain, I am now able to move pain free thanks to his expertise, encouragement, and consistent guidance. His knowledge and approach are incredibly helpful, even if you are not an athlete, and he meets you exactly where you are in your journey. He takes the time to explain each exercise, focuses on proper alignment, and tailors every session to my specific needs and goals. I continue to work with him to improve my basic movement, strength, and overall function, and I feel more confident and capable with each visit.I am incredibly grateful for his support and highly recommend Dan and ATR Sports Medicine to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, caring, and effective physical therapist.

Our 13-year-old daughter injured her back in a gymnastics competition, and Dan’s expertise as a former D1 athletic trainer was invaluable to her speedy recovery. He communicated clearly at every step—explaining her injury, the rehab plan, and each milestone. Dan tailored her treatments—including mobility and strengthening exercises, motion analysis, needling, and cupping—to pinpoint areas of weakness and reduce her pain much faster than we expected. It’s clear that his collegiate athletics patient care background enabled him to design a high-caliber treatment plan that not only accelerated her recovery, but also boosted her confidence, allowing her to compete again sooner than expected. Dan is clearly an expert who truly understands how to balance a prompt recovery with knowing how hard to push the body.

I can't say enough good things about Dan at ATR, who is truly exceptional! His depth of knowledge, professionalism, and multidisciplinary approach set him apart from any therapist I’ve seen before. His treatment included scraping, fascial release, stretching, and dry needling—each technique seamlessly integrated to address my specific needs.I’ve had an issue since my ACL surgery over 20 years ago which has affected my hip, and after a thorough FMS/SFMAl movement assessment, Dan provided treatment that made progress no other therapist over the years has been able to achieve. I left feeling noticeably improved.Dan’s expertise and commitment to patient care have earned my trust, and I’ll be a regular visitor going forward. Highly recommend ATR and Dan to anyone looking for top-tier therapy!

I went to see Dan at ATR for nagging knee issues. He was thorough and competent in his review, and able to explain to me in plain English what has been causing my ongoing problems with my knee. I’ve been to chiros in the past who I felt like just wanted to sell me their “solution” and I never felt that way with Dan. Rather he was honest and incredibly helpful about giving me tools I can use at home to combat the knee pain and keep it from coming back. Super satisfied - he will always be my first call for any future movement-related aches and pains!!

Amazing service. Everything you need and looking for from a recovery aspect. Highly recommend

I have worked with Dan (owner of ATR) for a couple years now and can confidently say he is the best in the BCS area. I came to visit him about some complications with an ACL reconstruction and can safely say that with his help my condition improved drastically. Would recommend ATR Sports Medicine to anyone wanting.

Dan pays great attention to detail and really listens and customizes your treatment plan to fit your specific needs. I would give ten stars if I could!

I had been struggling with chronic back pain for a long time until meeting Dan at ATR Sports Medicine. His in-depth evaluation went beyond surface-level symptoms, revealing the true cause of the discomfort. Thanks to his skillful treatment, I’ve experienced a remarkable improvement in my back mobility and quality of life. I wholeheartedly recommend Dan and ATR Sports Medicine to anyone seeking lasting relief.

I was referred to Dan for calf strain rehab. He took the time to really understand my injury history and thoroughly evaluate my movement patterns. Not only did I have immediate relief after dry needling and other soft tissue work, I have seen great results from the physical therapy plan he developed for me. Dan is super kind, patient, and incredibly knowledgable.

I have only been seeing Dan a few weeks and have already seen some great improvement. He truly evaluates everything to ensure he develops the best program to help your body recover. Highly recommend!!!

I have been working with Dan Jacobi at ATR Sports Medicine for almost 6 months. I have benefited greatly from his recovery and rehab interventions to both recover from a couple of injuries as well to improve my overall functional mobility. Dan listens and considers how areas of the body impact each other and may be affected by the area of pain or limitation. I have been able to do physical activities that were difficult with much more ease. His facility is clean and organized and he is a kind person. He has extensive knowledge of therapeutic sports medicine and of biomechanics of the body. I highly recommend Dan and ATR Sports Medicine.

Dan and his team are a professional group that take great care of their clients! Great to have such a highly skilled group in the Brazos Valley! Would highly recommend.

Dan is great! His knowledge and individual attention on what I wanted to accomplish was really helpful. Highly recommend!

Dan was extremely knowledgeable and effective in my treatment I would recommend him to anyone who has a problem with mobility and flexibility.

Dan is a true healer!! He got my son scheduled in promptly for PT sessions to get him over an injury & in a matter of a few weeks, he was better than before his injury.

FAQs
Common questions about getting started with ATR Sports Medicine in College Station.
Not by definition. ATR Sports Medicine provides rehabilitation of injuries related to sports and exercise related activities, however, the term "physical therapy" is reserved for the services conducted by a Physical Therapist. Read more about what athletic training is and isn't.
It is common for athletes to be discharged from traditional physical therapy once they meet basic functional goals, yet still feel unprepared for the speed and demands of actual competition. Because we are a cash-based practice, we are not restricted by insurance caps or generic protocols. We bridge the gap between "clinically healed" and "performance ready" by training you with the sport-specific intensity required to build true confidence before you step back on the field.
We work inside a state of the art sports training facility with turf fields, basketball/volleyball courts, baseball/softball cages, and a fully equipped weight room which allows for more functional rehab. Sessions are always 1:1 with a clinician (not an aide or an assistant). This gives us the ability to assess, treat, and progress sport-specific rehabs in the same environment athletes train in
Every situation is different. Many people notice improved movement and better tolerance to training within the first few sessions. We build a clear plan with benchmarks so you know where you are and what comes next.
If you're active and want to stay that way, you're our ideal patient. We work with everyone from competitive athletes to active adults that just want to stay healthy. You don't need a roster spot to deserve sports-focused care.
We accept cash, check, credit card, and HSA/FSA. We are a private pay practice and do not bill insurance.
