Return To Play in College Station, TX

Train the Movements Your Sport Actually Demands

You've done the rehab, but are you really ready to compete? We help athletes in College Station bridge the gap between feeling better and being truly game-ready with sport-specific progressions inside a real training environment.

Don't Return to Sport Before You're Ready

You feel better, but you're not confident

Pain is gone, but you're nervous about cutting hard, sprinting full speed, or throwing with power. You're not sure if your body is actually ready.

You're cleared, but performance feels off

Your doctor or therapist cleared you, but your explosiveness, agility, or throwing velocity isn't where it was. Something still feels limited.

You're afraid of getting hurt again

You don't want to push too hard and reinjure yourself. You need a clear plan that progresses safely while rebuilding your confidence and performance.

I have been working with Dan Jacobi at ATR Sports Medicine for almost 6 months. I have benefited greatly from his recovery and rehab interventions to both recover from a couple of injuries as well to improve my overall functional mobility. Dan listens and considers how areas of the body impact each other and may be affected by the area of pain or limitation. I have been able to do physical activities that were difficult with much more ease. His facility is clean and organized and he is a kind person. He has extensive knowledge of therapeutic sports medicine and of biomechanics of the body. I highly recommend Dan and ATR Sports Medicine.

I have worked with Dan (owner of ATR) for a couple years now and can confidently say he is the best in the BCS area. I came to visit him about some complications with an ACL reconstruction and can safely say that with his help my condition improved drastically. Would recommend ATR Sports Medicine to anyone wanting.

Frequently Asked Questions

We know return-to-play can feel uncertain. Here's what athletes and parents ask us about bridging the gap from rehab to sport.

When should I start return-to-play work?

Most athletes start return-to-play progressions once pain is under control and they've regained foundational strength and range of motion. We'll help you determine the right timing based on your injury and sport.

How do you know when I'm ready?

We use testing, benchmarks, and sport-specific drills to objectively measure readiness. We look at strength, power, movement quality, and your confidence level before progressing to full return.

Is this different from strength and conditioning?

Yes. Return-to-play work is injury-focused and progressive. It's designed to rebuild tolerance to sport demands after injury, not just general strength. Once you're ready, you can transition to performance training.

Do you work with my coach or trainer?

Absolutely. We coordinate with your coaching staff, strength coach, or performance team to make sure everyone's on the same page as you return to practice and competition.

What if I feel pain during progressions?

Pain during progressions is feedback. We adjust the plan based on how your body responds, backing off when needed and progressing when you're ready. The goal is smart progression, not rushing.
